Got acquired by Triple P Philippines Pte Ltd., a consortium of Triple P Insurance Holdings Pte. Ltd., IFC of the World Bank, BIO of Belgium, FinnFund of Finland, and DEG of Germany.

Following this acquisition, the company now operates as MAAGAP Insurance Inc., emphasizing a modern, agile, and fast approach, as hinted by the name “Maagap”, which means being proactive in Filipino.

Achieved a net worth of PhP900 million, making it compliant to the minimum requirement of the Amended Insurance Code of the Philippines.

2019

Landed on the list of Top 5 Non-Life Insurers for Corporate Governance Practices.

Successfully secured its recertification of the ISO 9001:2015, reinforcing its commitment to quality management systems, making the company one of only six ISO-Certified Non-life Insurance Companies in the Philippines.

2013

Inaugurated a branch in Batangas, its first in Southern Luzon

2012

Further expanded its reach from south to north by opening branches in Cagayan de Oro and Bulacan

2010

Transitioned from ISO 9001:2000 to ISO 9001:2008, exemplifying the company’s commitment to improve its management and operational processes continuously; this move ensured alignment with the evolving standards of business practices

2006

On its 5th anniversary, was awarded the ISO 9001:2000 Certificate of Excellence in Quality Management by Certification International, showing its adherence to globally accepted quality management standards.

2004-2006

Established several more branches to better capture the retail market, locations were in Dagupan, Davao, and Bacolod.

2003

Launched its first branch in Binondo, Manila in February and inaugurated the Cebu branch five months later, marking the beginnings of a nationwide expansion.

2002

Achieved PhP350 million in premiums in its first full year of operations, making the company land on the list of top Non-Life Insurers.

2001

MAAGAP Insurance Inc. (formerly MAA General Assurance Philippines Inc.) started its operations under its then-parent company MAA International Group Ltd (MAAIG), an offshore arm of MAA Holdings Berhad in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
